MLC music tours are designed for girls who are totally committed to musical excellence. An international tour is a unique experience allowing our very best ensembles the privilege of performing in prestige venues internationally. The preparation for a music tour is extensive and exciting.
Previous tours have taken us to a variety of countries including England, France, Italy and Scandinavia. Our 2010 tour will be to Spain focussing on its rich cultural and historical perspective.
MLC has a focus of performing contemporary Australian music. For our Spanish tour we are enhancing this tradition with many new commissioned Australian works for this project. Sharing Australian music with our audiences as well developing an understanding of Spanish music with our students is fundamental to the whole experience.
A music tour is a transforming learning experience where students through performing music are fully absorbed in the cultural experience of architecture, art, food and people. Sharing this with their colleagues they return more confident as well as being musically enriched and challenged.
